Experience

Noteworthy Accomplishments in Criminal Trial Practice:

  • Defendant acquited of great bodily injury allegation at trial, eliminating the potential for a "strike" and enhanced sentence.
  • Represented a migrant worker in a theft case in Vista, in which the District Attorney would not make an offer to settle the case.  The case was tried and after 10 minutes of deliberation, the defendant was acquitted. 
  • Represented a young African American man in El Cajon in a battery case involving three young white men.  The case was refiled as a felony when the defendant would not plead guilty to a misdemeanor.  The case was tried and after 20 minutes of deliberation, the defendant was acquitted.
  • Assisted Jack Earley in the defense of Elizabeth Broderick, a San Diego homicide case tried twice as the result of a hung jury.  The second trial was one of Court TV’s first cases.
